About this experience
Head out from Mirissa Harbour at sunrise with a family crew who have fished and sailed these waters for three generations. Mirissa sits on the edge of the continental shelf — one of the best places on Earth to see blue whales, the largest animal that has ever lived, plus sperm whales, Bryde's whales and huge pods of spinner dolphins.
Our boat follows responsible watching rules: we keep respectful distance, never chase, and limit time with each animal.
What's included
- Hotel pickup & drop-off anywhere in Mirissa
- Breakfast, tea & fresh fruit on board
- Life jackets and sea-sickness tablets

Good to know
What time does the trip start and how long is it?
Boats leave Mirissa Harbour at 6:30 AM, when the sea is calmest. Expect 3–4 hours on the water, back by around 10:30 AM.
Will we definitely see whales?
Sightings are very frequent in season (Nov–Apr) but never guaranteed — these are wild animals. If no whales are sighted, you join another trip free.
I get seasick — should I still come?
Take the sea-sickness tablet we provide 30 minutes before departure, sit mid-boat, and watch the horizon. Mornings are the calmest time.
